The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Friday announced new appointments for a number of key positions in the security agency.
The Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said the appointments were made based on a decision by the Interior Minister Taj Mohammad Jahid and an approval by President Ashraf Ghani.
According to Sediqqi, the appointments are as following:
· Gen. Hassan Shah Frogh as Kabul Police Chief;
· Brig. Gen. Mohammad Salem Almas as Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Kabul Police;
· Gen. Sayed Gul Aqa Rohani as Commander of Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul;
· Gen. Toryalai Abdiani as Paktia Police Chief;
· Gen. Ekramuddin Sari as Baghlan Police Chief;
· Gen. Muhayuddin Sarwari as Nuristan Police Chief;
· and Gen. Mohammad Wahid Hamidi as head of anti-corruption and audit office of the Interior Ministry.
Meanwhile, Sediqqi said that Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi, former Kabul police chief, was appointed as Nangarhar Police Chief.
